FDSC SKI AND SNOWBOARD SCHOOL WANTS YOU! 
We are looking for a few good people who would like to be a part of our Apprentice program. This is a great opportunity for any Snowboarder or Skier interested in learning how to be an Instructor. Anyone who is interested should please contact the Skimeister. 

ADULT LESSON PROGRAM for 2008

All lessons are taught by our own PSIA Certified Professional Ski and Snowboard Instructors.

1. Send your completed form below along with a $15 check payable to FDSC to Flying Dutchmen Ski Club, Box 14233, Reading, PA  19612-4233
You may also bring it to the next FDSC meeting.
2. Email skimeister@fdsc.org advising you are mailing it.
3. Contact a club voucher sales person for your $12 FDSC voucher or a Bear Creek Season Pass is also an option.
4. If equipment rentals are needed, discounts are available with Buckman's Ski Shops and Pinnacle Sports.

Ski Levels for Adult Lesson Program

Group A
LEVEL 1 – Never skied before
LEVEL 2 - Walk, slide, sidestep, wedge glide and stop.
Basic wedge turn (minimal)

Group B
LEVEL 3 - Link solid wedge turns on easy green terrain.
LEVEL 4 - Ski all green terrain confidently in wedge turns or beginning wedge-christie (start turn in wedge, finish with skis parallel.

Group C
LEVEL 5 - Ski wedge-christie turns on easy blue.
LEVEL 6 - Ski beginning parallel turns on green, early-match wedge-christie on blue.

Group D
LEVEL 7 - Ski comfortable open parallel on all blue and easy black.
LEVEL 8 - Ski short- and long-radius dynamic parallel on green, blue, and easier black. Skis open parallel on hard black and double black. Skis fall line in blue bumps and easy black bumps with few stops.

Regulations for Bear Creek's Season Pass and 7 Session Pass

• Seven-session/season passes are non-transferable 

• Passes expire at the end of the 2007-2008 season and may not be rolled over to another year 

• No refunds will be issued for unused portions of the seven-session pass 

• No refunds will be issued for any reason on a season pass 

• Participants of the seven-session program who are getting lessons must be at least 6 years old 

• Ski and snowboard rentals require a MC, VISA, DISC or AMEX security deposit. (*note* charges are only applied if the equipment is damaged or not returned) 

• Minors renting equipment require the signature of a parent or guardian. Parental release forms are available on our website. 

• If you lose your pass, (seven-session or season pass) there is a $25 replacement fee 

• Off peak passes and 7 session passes are valid Monday through Friday all day and after 4:00pm on weekends and resort holidays 

• Resort holidays for the 2007-2008 season are December 25, 2007 through January 1, 2008, January 21, 2008 and February 18, 2008. 

• Special pricing may be for a limited time.
  

When purchasing pass or passes, have handy; credit card for purchase, full name, address, phone number and birth date of each of the pass holders.

JUNIOR LESSON PROGRAM for 2008

Tuesdays, January 8th through February 19th, 2008 (same evenings as adult program)

Junior Sign in 6:00pm, Lessons 6:30pm - 8:00pm

7 Lessons $70
7 Lessons with Lift Pass $161
7 Lessons with Lift Pass & Ski Rental $189
7 Lessons with Lift Pass & Board Rental $252

All Lessons will be taught by Bear Creek Instructors.

Additional Information

• Only children of FDSC members are permitted to participate.

• Ages 6-17 are permitted to participate.

• Both ski & snowboard lessons are available.

• Juniors will test weekly for exact placement based on individual skill levels.

• Approximately 5 students to each instructor.

• The junior program will run concurrently with the adult program on Tuesday evenings.

• Start time 6:30 - 8:00pm (meet on the snow by 625pm)

• Snacks & hot chocolate will follow the lessons.

• Childcare is available by reservation 866-754-2822 ext 320

• Discount season rentals available through Pinnacle Sports & Buckman's Ski Shop

Please keep in mind that friends and family who do not ski may join the Flying Dutchmen and their children who want to ski or snowboard can enjoy the benefits of this program. (Hint - spread the word to your friends and family!)
